Acquisitions & Collections

  • Authorizes the expenditure of funds for new materials,
  • Sets up requisitions in the University’s financial system,
  • Monitors the library materials budget,
  • Orders new materials from authorized vendors,
  • Verifies the receipt of new materials,
  • Evaluates the acquisition of new collections,
  • Provides ongoing collection analysis of existing collections,
  • Assists collection development librarians in locating hard to find materials,
  • Conducts collection assessments for new degree programs or accreditation reports,
  • Provides support for the management of all demand-driven acquisition programs,
  • Collects usage statistics for ebooks and databases,
  • Manages the funds in the foundation accounts,
  • Oversees the receipt of donations,
  • Manages the lost book replacement program.

The materials that are acquired by Acquisitions & Collections include: print and electronic monographs, audiovisual materials, streaming video, standing orders, state & federal documents, and course reserve materials.
