  • Sets cataloging policy and develops metadata standards within the Libraries,
  • Identifies, verifies, evaluates, and edits bibliographic records for new materials following international guidelines and local procedures,
  • Completes essential information for partial bibliographic records,
  • Provides unique item information in physical and database format,
  • Monitors processing of materials in priority order,
  • Conducts final check of permanently processed and prepared materials for accuracy and completeness,
  • Distributes processed materials to appropriate locations,
  • Creates and maintains authority files of names, subjects and series,
  • Provides metadata for digital objects,
  • Batch loads records for demand driven acquisitions programs,
  • Reviews database transactions for accuracy, completeness and consistency,
  • Sending cataloged materials to physical processing for labeling and transfer to the proper library location.
