CHARGE
The Virtual Library Outcomes Assessment Group will be responsible for analyzing the extent to
which the Virtual libary is meeting its defined mission or purpose within the contect of teaching,
learning, and research. The Group will engage in a process to gather information on the outcomes of
the Virtual Library. Information will be collected on who is using the Virtual Library, how they are
using it, and what users will need in the future. this process can include but will not be limited
to one-on-one interviews, telephone surveys, web-based surveys, focus groups, on-site surveys,
external evaluation, and a statistical analysis. This process will relect the successes of
"programs" and may not result in a need to change; other data will reflect areas where
"program" improvement is indicated. This Group will work closely with the USF Office of
Institutional Research & Planning as appropriate. As a coordinating body, the Virtual Library
Outcomes Assessment Group will alos review assessment efforts by Virtual Library Teams to ensure a
contintuity of effort on behalf of the USF Libraries.
The Virtual Library Outcomes Assessment Group will issue a report to the directors by June 30,
1999 outlining the extent to which the Virtual Library is meeting its mission and indicating
recommendations for improving specific aspects of the Virtual Library
