The Romance of Browsing Library Stacks

Bohyun Kim, Digital Access Librarian at Florida International University Medical Library, wrote a feature story on the ACRL Blog, Enabling the Research ‘Flow” and Serendipity in Today’s Digital Library Environment. This is a very reflective piece about the romance of browsing in the context of today’s digital resources, and what might be done to add more “flow” to the digital browsing experience. Highlighted among resources to encourage “digital browsing” is the new Google WebGL Bookcase (illustrated above) that allows you to browse books visually and then look at summaries of those books online.
