We’ve Moved (Some Stuff Around)

Wednesday, October 29th, 2014 | Posted in Collections, Faculty, News, Resources, Students by Tomaro Taylor | No Comments »

If you’ve visited the FMHI Research Library in the past few weeks, you may have noticed that a few things have moved around:

Computer Lab

  • We received a CCTV!  The magnifier is located across from the information desk, in the commons area.
  • The ADA-compliant computer has moved to the left of its original placement in order to accommodate the CCTV.

Collections

  • AV Materials are now located in the first range of stacks in the commons area
  • Journals and Reference materials have also moved to the first range of stacks in the commons area
  • Tests and Measures are now housed with the archives (please ask for assistance)

Print Services

  • To make room for the CCTV, we removed one of the lab computers from the commons area.  This computer is now located next to the printer for a quicker print option.  No need to wait in line for a computer (though you may need to wait in line for the quick print station).

Question? Comments?  Let us know.

Monday, October 27th, 2014 | Posted in Faculty, News, Resources, Services, Students by Tomaro Taylor | No Comments »

Staying current in your field just got a little easier with either an Andriod or iOS smart device.

The BrowZine app provides quick and easy access to most electronic journals subscribed to by the USF Libraries. You can use the app as your personal magazine rack! With BrowZine, you can browse journals, read articles, and save or email copies of the articles you choose. You can even export citation information to RefWorks, Mendeley, Zotero, and other services. Best of all, you can receive notifications when new articles are published.

Check out http://guides.lib.usf.edu/browzine for more information.

Mid-Semester Motivation

Monday, October 6th, 2014 | Posted in Hours, News, Services, Students by Tomaro Taylor | No Comments »

Do you need a mid-semester pick-me-up?  Stop by the FMHI Research Library for a little motivation.  Librarians can help you kick-start your research projects by helping you identify appropriate resources, organize your research, and format your final product. How do we do this?  Databases, citation management systems, and APA style -  though not necessarily in that order.

The FMHI Research Library is open Monday -  Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM.  Drop in at your convenience, or schedule a research consultation.
