Student, staff and visitor parking are available: Map It!
USF Bull Runner Routes B and D service the areas closest to the buildings along Banyan Circle, where the Library is located.
- The FMHI Library is the last stop on Route B (Chiles Ctr./FMHI) before returning to the Marshall Student Center.
- Those using Route D will need to transfer onto Route B at the Social Work/Moffitt Tower stop on Holly Drive.

Can anyone use the FMHI Research Library?
The FMHI Research Library is open to faculty, staff, students and affiliates of the University of South Florida as well as members of the greater USF community. Copying and printing
The Library provides public-access computing, printing, and photocopying. Use of the computers is free and does not require a USF Bull Buck$ card. Patrons affiliated with USF may use their Bull Buck$/ID card to print and photocopy documents. Patrons not affiliated with USF will need to use a guest card for printing and photocopying. At this time, guest cards are not available for purchase at the FMHI Research Library.
- Color, double-sided and collated printing are not currently available at the FMHI Research Library. Please visit the Tampa Library or the SG computer lab in the Marshall Student Center for these services.
- Wireless printing is available from your laptop PC. Go to http://www.usf.edu/it/class-prep/printing.aspxl and select the “Florida Mental Health Institute” printer installation package for MHC 1727.
What types of materials are available at the FMHI Research Library?
The FMHI Research Library directly supports the research and teaching activities of the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute and related academic and research programs at the University of South Florida. The Library’s core collections of books, serials and archival materials center on mental and behavioral health and healthcare.
Do you have group study spaces?
Yes! A group study room is available in MHC 1738. The room is equipped with tables, chairs, a computer, and a viewing station. Between 2 and 10 people can use the room comfortably. Visit the front desk for more information.
Do you have headphones?
Unfortunately, the FMHI Research Library is unable to provide patrons with headphones.
How can I get research help?
FMHI Librarians are available for group and one-on-one instruction sessions with students, staff and faculty researchers. Sessions may include an overview of the Library’s resources (including databases specific to select areas of study), assistance narrowing research topics, or finding relevant materials. I’m a faculty member - How do I request a Library instruction session for my class?
Request an instruction session using this form >>. Due to high demand, requests for library instruction must be made two weeks in advance. We strongly encourage instructors to attend the library instruction session with their students.
I’m never on this side of campus. Do I have to return these books at the FMHI Research Library?
Books and other items checked out at the FMHI Research Library can be returned to any of the USF campus libraries.
Does the Library have a dropbox?
At this time, the FMHI Research Library does not have a dropbox for returned materials. All items must be returned to the Library’s service desk or dropped off at another USF campus library.
