HISTORY
The Library Diversity Task Force, formerly known as the Diversity Committee was formed in 1995. During the early years of the committees operations, collaborations with the USF Office of Diversity Issues, the USF Library Staff Development Committee and the USF School of Library Information Science yielded lectures, workshops, collection development initiatives, association presentations and the development of a successful mentor program. In 2001, the charge of the committee was modified to incorporate participation in the human resources and policy making aspect of the library’s administration. The Diversity Task Force continues its tradition of organizing diversity related events and projects for the enrichment of the university community, as well as a concentration towards the recruitment and maintenance of a diverse workforce within the library.
