The Columbia Restaurant: Celebrating a Century of History, Culture, and Cuisine
Join us for a lecture presented by USF assistant librarian Andrew Huse and Richard Gonzmart, in celebration of The Columbia’s rich cultural history. The event will take place Tuesday, November 10 in the Siboney Room at the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor city at 7:00 PM, with a reception starting at 6:30.
Andrew Huse’s The Columbia Restaurant provides an in-depth look at the history, culture and cuisine which made the restaurant as well renowned as it is today. It details the rich stories of the Restaurant’s consistent change and excellent service with a perspective that is both historical and enticing.
Andrew T. Huse is an assistant librarian with the University of South Florida’s Special and Digital Collections department who writes and lectures about Florida food and food ways.
FLORIDA CONVERSATIONS is free and open to the public. It is underwritten by the Tampa Bay History Center Endowment Fund at USF with media sponsorship from The Tampa Tribune. The series is co-sponsored by the USF Libraries Florida Studies Center and the Tampa Bay History Center.
