Student Scholarships
Since 1986, the USF Libraries have been awarding scholarships to deserving graduate and undergraduate students. One of only a handful of academic libraries to offer scholarships, USF Libraries are proud of our legacy of supporting academic excellence.
Deadline for student scholarship applications is Friday, October 30, 2009.
Deadline for Coleman Fiction Contest is Friday, December 4, 2009.

Coleman Award for Excellence in Short Fiction Writing
A $350 award will be presented for the best unpublished fiction story written by any degree-seeking University of South Florida student registered part- or full-time for fall semester 2008, and a $150 award will be presented for the story selected as 1st runner-up written by a student meeting the same criteria.
When applying for this award, please ensure you fill out and submit a Writing Award Cover Sheet & Publication Release Form for each story.
Deadline 12:00 noon – Friday, December 5, 2008

The following awards are offered through the Libraries' Florida Studies Center:
Patrick Riordan Memorial Research Fellowship. Established in honor of the first Director of the Florida Studies Center, it awards $2500 for a month-long fellowship to an MA or PhD candidate engaged in thesis or dissertation research on a Florida Studies topic. Florida Studies Center Graduate Research Stipends offers graduate research travel stipends to any registered USF student researching a Florida arts or humanities topic. Deadline April 3, 2009. For more information and application guidelines click here.
Leland Hawes Undergraduate and Graduate Essay Prizes in Florida History A national competition judged by a panel of scholars, $500 is awarded annually for an undergraduate essay; $1,000 for the graduate essay. Deadline April 3, 2009. For more information and application guidelines click here.
