What will happen on August 4th?

ILLIAD/ILL will be shut down on August 4th for its conversion to the USF IT Central Authentication System. USF affiliated patrons will no longer be required to create a separate ILLIAD username and password. You will not be able to make an ILL request Wednesday so please plan accordingly.

How will I access my ILLiad account?

After August 4th, follow the new login button to USF WebAuth and sign in with your existing NetID and password.

What about my old ILLiad username?

During the implementation, your old ILLiad user account will be merged into an account under your NetID. You will no longer log in with your old ILLiad account information.

What will happen to my current ILL/PRONTO requests?

All of your old and active requests should be migrated and available to you when you log in with your NetID. If they do not show up please contact your ILL office for assistance, at (863) 667-7817.

What if I don’t have a NetID?

Some library patrons will not have a Net ID. If you do not have a NetID and you already had an ILLiad account, your login information will continue to work. If you need to register for an ILLiad login you can start here.

Changes in interlibrary loan process for books

The USF Polytechnic Library is changing the way it’s processing interlibrary loans for books. Interlibrary loan is a collaborative process between libraries of all types, to give access to items not owned locally. This is a service reserved to USF registered students, staff and faculty.

Starting this week, we are now accepting requests for books from the USF Libraries system, or outside USF, using the same ILLiad interface that is currently used for articles (http://guides.lib.usf.edu/ill). This is a web-based interface, so you won’t need to use our old PDF form anymore.

ILLiad does requires a login and password. If you already had an account (to request journal articles), your existing account will continue working just the same. You will simply see added the option of requesting books.

If you don’t already have an ILLiad account, you will need to create one. Go to http://guides.lib.usf.edu/ill and click on “Not registered”, under the login box.

  • We strongly recommend you use your NetID as login and password. This Fall, all ILLiad accounts will be moved to the NetID
  • You will be asked for a d a Delivery Location, choose “USF Polytechnic”

Processing time should be less than a week from time of reception, within the USF system. Outside USF, please consider a wait time of two weeks or more, as we then depend on the loaning library. As always, in the majority of cases, the ILL service is offered free to you. We do ask that you limit your requests to 20 a week. Please be as complete and accurate as possible: the more information you put in your request, the faster we will be able to process it. Include the ISBN number, especially if requesting a specific edition; the OCLC number is also extremely helpful.

We are working on the Library webpages to update the ILL information, relevant to Polytechnic.

If you have any questions about the new process, on how to use ILLiad, or on how to find the ISBN/OCLC numbers, please contact Library Specialist Amy VanMiddlesworth at avanmiddlesworth@poly.usf.edu or 7-7747.
