Collections and Discovery

The Collections and Discovery Department supports institutional research and teaching by acquiring, organizing, and managing library collections in all formats.

To advance this mission, C&D:

  • Acquires and manages a balanced collection of information resources to support USF’s teaching and research programs.
  • Maintains secure, discoverable, and accessible electronic collections.
  • Organizes collections to facilitate efficient discovery.
  • Links USF faculty and students to materials available from libraries around the world.

C&D develops, maintains, and enhances user-focused, demand-driven, and network-based collections that reflect the strengths of the university. The department has primary responsibility for collection analysis and reporting in support of management and budgeting decisions.

C&D closely collaborates with all areas of the USF Libraries to promote seamless and efficient access to critical information resources in all formats.
