The Collections and Discovery Department supports institutional research and teaching by acquiring, organizing, and managing library collections in all formats.
To advance this mission, C&D:
- Acquires and manages a balanced collection of information resources to support USF’s teaching and research programs.
- Maintains secure, discoverable, and accessible electronic collections.
- Organizes collections to facilitate efficient discovery.
- Links USF faculty and students to materials available from libraries around the world.
C&D develops, maintains, and enhances user-focused, demand-driven, and network-based collections that reflect the strengths of the university. The department has primary responsibility for collection analysis and reporting in support of management and budgeting decisions.
C&D closely collaborates with all areas of the USF Libraries to promote seamless and efficient access to critical information resources in all formats.
