Data.gov

Data.gov, managed and hosted by the U.S. General Services Administration, offers more than 190,000 datasets provided by government agencies at the federal, state, and local level. The intent is to increase transparency and accountability by offering public access to federal government data. Under the 2013 Federal Open Data Policy, all newly generated government data is required to be open and machine readable. The main page offers basic keyword searching across datasets along with fourteen browsable topics such as agriculture, climate, education, energy, and finance.  Image credit
